Inverey - Muir Cottage (Ian Bryce)
This weekend in the middle of the trades holidays will provide an opportunity to visit the remote hills such as Carn an Righ or to go for some longer climbs. A traverse could be arranged by using the Heather hopper bus from Spittal of Glenshee, using bikes to Alltanour or by using cars. Using a bike one can access many of the remoter hills. The new midge eater should be working and with warmer weather you may fancy lighting the barbie. Bring your own sleeping bag. The hut has all the usual facilities, kitchen, showers, and drying room. To confirm your place for the weekend send £8 hut fees per member (with cheques made payable to the Cairngorm Club) to Ian Bryce. Torridon - Torridon Youth Hostel (Joyce Ritchie)
Torridon’s Youth Hostel has been reserved for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The cost for accommodation will be £39.75 for 3 nights. The hostel is spacious and has excellent facilities. However should you wish to eat out there are a range of hotels close by. Torridon Youth hostel is well situated for those wishing to bag Munros or Corbetts. In addition to this there are plenty low level walks in the area. If you don't feel like walking there are opportunities for sea kayaking, cycling and fishing. Laggan - SMC Raeburn Hut (Bill Morgan)
It is one of the SMC's most comfortable huts. The view out is a superb vista across Strath Spey to the Monadh Liath hills. The hut is centrally placed for the Cairngorms to the east, and the winter routes of Creag Meagaidh to the south-west. This weekend has a reputation for full winter conditions. If not the rock climbs on both Creag Dubh, Newtonmore, and Binnein Shuas are also a short drive away. To book contact Bill Morgan.

This is always a popular meet for the start of the Club year. If events follow their normal course the bus will be parked as usual in the Loch Muick parking lot. 10-12 Apr Fri - Sun [Easter Meet] Inverie - Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse (Jim Bryce)
The Club has booked the John Muir Trust / Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse at Inverie in Knoydart for the Easter weekend - Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April.

Conveniently situated for 3 Munros and 3 Corbetts with a further 2 Corbetts reserved for very strong walkers.  Inverie is home to the famous Old Forge, mainland Britain's remotest pub, which serves excellent meals.  Boats from Mallaig to Inverie on Fridays and Mondays.  Those wishing to walk in from Kinloch Hourn or Loch Arkaig should allow at least 8 hours.  

Those wishing higher class accommodation could book themselves into the Pier House in Inverie.

If interested in attending this meet please let Jim Bryce know.  You will then be sent a reminder at end of January 2009 and to confirm your booking in bunkhouse will have to pay Jim Bryce £42.00 (for 3 nights) by 28 February 2009 - cheques made payable to Cairngorm Club.
